Zelda Twilight Princess Twilight Realm

2.1 Breaking out of Jail

Once Wolf Link awakens you will see that you have been locked into a cell with your leg chained to the ground. The first thing you need to do is to start to struggle. After doing so for a bit a cut-scene will initiate where we will meet Midna, Link’s partner for this game. After taunting you for a while she will break you free from the chain.

At this point you will be free to roam around your cell. However, as you will soon notice, there is not a whole lot you can do in there. So break the pile of debris in the corner of the cell and you will see that you can dig your way out of the cell. Do so and get outside of the cage.

Midna will now jump onto your back and agree to help you escape. With Midna now on your back run over to the cage next to yours and ‘Z-Target’ onto the lever. Press the A button to jump and grab onto the lever. Wolf Link will hang from the lever which will open another cage. Go through that small area and head through until you reach the sewers.

2.2 Sewers

After making your way into the sewers Midna will teach you how to use your animal senses. Doing so will reveal the spirits of a lot of soldiers nearby. Throughout the sewers there are a lot of enemies and people that will require you to use your animal senses so make sure you know how to use them. Now head down the first corridor and take a right to see another lever for Link to pull down on. Pull on it to open a cage with some Rupees.

Take the passage that leads west to find a couple more levers to be pulled. At the moment you will see that there are some spikes on the floor that prevents you from heading further North. So head to the southern part of the sewer to find another lever. Pull it and water will begin to flow throughout the sewer. Now head back north and swim right on over the spiked floor.

Now head to the left and Midna will leave you and fly to an area that is blocked off, telling you that you are on your own for this part. On the right side of this area is again another level that will lower this gate and prevent water from going up into the tower.

If you return near where Midna is you will notice that it is still blocked off. However, there is now a small passage to the side of the gate that you can crawl through and reach Midna.

In front of you is a giant circular stairwell. As you try to head up the stairs a part will break off causing you to fall back down. So get back up and try again. This time Midna will help you scale the stairs. Use a combination of Z-Targeting Midna, and scaling tight ropes to reach the top of the stairs.

Once at the top of the stairs, defeat 3 Shadow Keese. You should notice a large door but it is shut and unable to be opened at the time. Nearby is a rock that you can stand on. Do so and talk with Midna who will then guide you into to the top of the tower. Then go through the open door.

2.3 Castle Rooftops

At this point you should now be outside and on the Castle Rooftops. Midna will chat with you for a bit and tells you that she wants you to meet with somebody who is in another tower. So you will have to work your way over to that tower. The path there is incredibly linear so it should be no problem navigating to the tower.

As you progress up the path you will come across a spirit soldier who gives it away that you are on top of Hyrule Castle. After talking to him head to the create nearby and push it against the wall so you can climb on top and reach the high ledge.

Continue across the rooftops and ignore the flying shadow beasts for the time being. When you reach an area with a wooden platform to your right you should talk to Midna who will tell you that you are almost there. Use her Z-Targeting ability to jump across the large gaps and work your way towards the tower. Climb up the small steps and enter the tower.

Now that you are in the tower just head up more stairs and you will meet up with Princess Zelda. Zelda will tell you the story of how Hyrule ended up in the Twilight Realm.

After Zelda has finished her story she tells Link that he must go before the guards catch them. So head back down the stairs and after a brief scene you will end up back on the rooftops. Midna will talk a bit more and then transport the two of them back to the Ordon Spring.

2.4 Acquire Ordon Sword and Shield

Now that you are back in Ordon Spring you will find that you are still in Wolf Link form. As you try to leave the springs Midna will tell you that you have no choice but to listen to her and do what she says. She then says you need to get a sword and shield.

As you will quickly find out, the villagers in Ordon Village are scared of Wolf Link and will run away or try to attack you. Now head to the west part of the village and listen in on the mayor as he talks about a sword and shield. Make sure to keep your distance though or they will run away.

Midna will point out an open window and also point out that the watermill would be a good way to jump up and reach the window. Sadly, if you try to jump up onto the watermill Hanch will launch a hawk at you. So talk to the nearby cats and they teach you how to scare Hanch away.

Stand near the town shop and use Midna to jump up onto the roof. Jump over to Hanch and you will scare him away as he will jump into the water. Now that he is out of the way you can safely jump onto the watermill. Do so and enter the house through the window.

Jump down off of the bed and land on the middle table. Face the wall with the shield on it and use Midna to jump over to it. Then dash into the wall twice which will cause the shield to fall off. Pick up the shield and then jump out of the window to see Rusl and Uli talking about the Ordon sword.

Run to their house and ignore the two of them. Walk to the right side of the house and use your animal senses to locate a spot that you can use to dig your way into the house. Straight in front of you is the Ordon Sword. Grab the sword and leave the house.

2.5 Spring of Light

Now that you have both a sword and shield you can return to the Ordon Spring. As you approach the spring you will see a giant spirit so go ahead and approach her.

As you do a wall of twilight will surround you and a shadow beast will fall from the sky. Attack him and once he is defeated a cut-scene will start.

During this scene you will be introduced to the Light Spirit, Ordona. You will get a back-story to the 4 Hyrule spirits, Zant, the twilight, and more. Ordona then tells Link that he can return to human form by reviving the light spirit.

After the scene is over, regain control of Link and cross the bridge to re-enter the Twilight Realm
