4.1 Forest Temple Map
After entering the Forest Temple just walk forward and a short clip will then play. Once that video is just continue onward past some Deku Babas and a Bokoblin.
In front of you there should be a monkey that is locked in a wooden cage. This is the same monkey that stole your lantern from earlier. Smack the cage several times with your sword to break it and let your chimp friend go. She will then climb the nearby ivy vines and motion for you to follow her up.
Look to the left side of the room to see some ivy growth with a couple of Walltulas hanging around. Use your slingshot on them to clear the path and then climb up to the top of the ivy. Once at the top, to the right will be a treasure chest with a Rupee inside.
Now jump back down to the ground and head to the northern side of the chamber. Use your Slingshot to again shoot down the Walltulas on the ivy. Climb up again and then follow the monkey to and into the door.
The monkey will now follow you for a while so head down the steps in this room and then up another set. You should run into a Skulltula. Defeat this spider enemy by slashing it in the sides or back. In this area there should now be a platform. On top of that platform are four torches.
With your lantern, light the four torches which will cause a platform to rise from the floor. Now follow the monkey across the platform to the chest. Open it to get the dungeon map.
After getting the map, head through the nearby door.
In this room a cut-scene will trigger in which we are introduced to the dungeons’ mini-boss. Do not worry as you do not have to fight this fearsome chimp quite yet. In this clip, a baboon named Ook will destroy the bridge stopping Link and his monkey pal in their tracks.
With the bridge destroyed, you have no choice but to return to the previous room.
4.2 Finding the Second Monkey
Back in this room now, follow your friend to the middle part of the room. The monkey will jump and hang on the rope that is hanging on the left side of the room. Jump across toward her and use the monkey to swing to the other side. Go through the door.
Now head north into this room past an odd monster called a Bombling. When you slash these enemies they will turn into a bomb and blow up shortly after. Behind the Bombling is a group of rocks. So slash it and use the bomb to blow the rocks up to take that passage.
You should now see some barrels. If you break them you will find an Oocca known as Ooccoo Jr. You can use this odd creature as a way of warping in and out of the temple.
From here you will need to head down to route on the other side of the room. Use your lantern to burn down the spiderweb and then defeat the nearby Deku Baba. Keep following the monkey as she jumps to each platform. A hanging spider will eventually scare her causing the monkey to stop in her tracks. Use your Slingshot on this arachnid to continue on. You will be led to a locked door so go ahead and head backwards and back through the door on the Northern side of the room.
You will now find yourself in a large outside area and you should notice that the area is windy causing the platforms to be blown in different directions. The platforms should be blow to face you at some point allowing Link to run across to the other side. Once across, enter the door to enter the other part of the temple.
When you walk into this room you should notice a treasure chest to your right. Open it to get a Small Key. Take it and return back outside and across to the other side. Go back to the other room and follow the monkey to the locked door we saw earlier. Use the key and head through the door.
In this room will be the second caged monkey. Walk down and across the small bridge. You should see your monkey pay trying to free her friend. She will try rolling into the pillar that the cage sits on but with no luck. So follow her idea and roll into the pillar 3 times. The cage will then fall to the ground, breaking to free the monkey. A small group of Bokoblins will then jump down and try to attack you. Slash them with your sword until they are defeated.
Now head towards the 2 monkies and they will create a path across the now broken bridge. Swing monkey to monkey to get across the gap and return to the previous room. Head back to the center room, the one where we got the Dungeon Map, and use the monkey to swing to the right side of the room. Use your Lantern to bur down the web and then go through the door.
4.3 Third and Fourth Monkey
In this next room you will be on your own. The monkies will not follow you in due to the monsters in this room. In this room there are some new enemies. You should notice a couple of snake like deku babas on the ground. They are pretty easy to defeat and just require some slashes with your sword. Anyways, for now head up the steps.
Sraight ahead is another new monster called a Deku Like, ignore it and keep heading up the stairs. You will run into a Bombling to smack it and then pick up the bomb. Quickly turn rightand run forward until you are near the gap. You should see a Deku Like under the gap so toss the bomb down into its mouth to defeat this fiend.
Now jump across the gap and you will see a large rock placed between 2 torches. You will need to use a Bombling to blow this boulder to pieces. So jump back across the gap and get a Bombling. Toss it towards the rock and it will blow it up revealing another doorway. Enter that room.
In this room there is another monkey locked behind a door. So walk downstairs and look at the 2 pillars. On top of one of the pillars is a small chest. Roll into that pillar to knock the chest to the ground. Open it for a small key. You will now need to cross a small bridge here in this room. However there are a bunch of really annoying enemies, known as Tile Worms, that will make this task hard for you. These Tile Worms hide underneath the tiles on the ground and when you step on them they spring up and send you flying. So just pay close attention as you work your way across the bridge.
When you cross the bridge you will again have to deal with more of these Tile worms. In this area there are 2 unlit torches. Work your way around the worms and use your lantern to light the torches. Doing so will cause a series of stairs to rise up enabling you to reach the monkey that is locked away.
Climb the stairs and defeat a Skulltula. Then use your small key to free the third monkey.
With the third monkey freed, walk across the bridge and exit the room. To your left is some ivy on the wall. Use your Slingshot to defeat the Walltulas and then climb on the ivy to reach an area with a door. Enter the door.
In this room is yet another monkey. You will see the small ket get grabed by a gigantic Baba in the center of the chamber. Defeat this Baba by z-targeting him and using your jump attack. After a couple of hits he will be defeated and a Deku Like will be left behind. Use one of the nearby Bomblings to toss a bomb into the Deku Like. The small key will pop out. Grab the key and walk up the stairs to free the fourth monkey. Now return to the last room.
There is one last thing you can do in this room. Go towards your left and there will be a Bombling. Smack him and grab the bomb. Now walk to the edge of the platform and drop the bomb into the monster’s mouth. Defeating this Deku Like opens up a new area. Go down the path and open the treasure chest to get a heart piece. Now return to the center room of the dungeon.
4.4 Gale Boomerang
Now that you are back in the center room, head up the stairs and go into the northern door to get outside. The 4 monkeys you have saved so far will change from a rope enabling you to swing across the large gap. Once across the gap, enter the door.
At this point you will engage in your first mini-boss battle against the Baboon Ook. You can check out out video guide for strategy on how to defeat Ook.
Once Ook ahs been defeated a shadow bug will jump off his back and leave. The dungeon item, the Gale Boomerang, will be left behind.
With the Gale Boomerang now in your possession we can exit the room. To do so you will need to use the Boomerang on the 2 spinning panels above the door. Once doing so, exit the room.
4.5 Forest Temple Compass
Back in this room you will notice that the monkeys are no longer hanging around. So you will need to use the Gale Boomerang to follow a new path. To your left is a series of bridges. However they are not facing the right direction. So use the Gale Boomerang to spin the bridges the correct direction and cross the bridges. Across the bridge is a caged monkey and a Bokoblin. Defeat the Bokoblin and then use the Gale Boomerang on the web above the cage to let it free.
Now use the boomerang to again spin the bridges and head back into the southern way. Enter the door and then head left and head through that door that is on the right side of the room.
You should find yourself back in the room with the Tile Worms. They should be easier to get past as the Gale Boomerang will uncover them and blow them away. So cross the bridge and then use the Gale Boomerang on the torches you lit earlier. This will drop the stairwell back into the ground. Under the stairs should be a piece of heart. After grabbing it, exit the room.
Fall to the lower floor and go through the door on the left. This will take you to the middle chamber. The monkeys will all be here and enable you to swing to the middle of the room. Above you is a chest that is caught hanging in a spider web. Use the Gale Boomerang on it to make the chest drop to the floor. In the chest is the Dungeon Compass.
Now use a monkey to swing to the left side and go through the door.
4.6 Forest Temple Big Key
In this room you should now notice that there are 2 treasure chests showing up in the southwest corner of the room. In this part of the room there are 4 pillars with a spinning panel on top. You should also see that there is a Z shape on the floor. Use the Gale Boomerang to target the spinners to make the spinners spin in the shape of the Z. This will open up a gate and allow you to open the chest to get the Big Key.
Now that you have the Big Key, head through the door on the north to get outside.
4.7 Last Three Monkeys
In this room there is another platform that spins from the direction the wind is blowing. Wait until the wind blows it your way and then quickly cross over. A monkey will be waiting for you across the gap so follow him into the door in front of you.
Use the Gale Boomerang here to spin the platforms in the middle of the room. As you line then up, run across and go into the northern door. The monkeys you have saved so far will all be here. However there are still 3 that need to be saved. So go to the spinning platform to your right and when you are on it use the Boomerang to spin it the other direction. Walk onto the next one and then do the same thing. Now you should be able to get to the east side of the room.
There will be several Bokoblins and Walltulas for you to defeat. Once doing so climb the ivy up and to the right. Drop down onto the higher platform and defeat another Walltula before continuing up the ivy. Then go through the door at the top.
In this room there are several Baba Serpents. Kill them and then use the Boomerang on a nearby Bombling to bring a bomb into Link’s hands. You will then be able to throw it into the mouth of the nearby Deku Like. Killing the Deku Like will enable you to jump across and get a Small Key from the treasure chest.
From here go to the northern part of the room and notice that there is a large rock at the top of a set of vines. You will need to use the Gale Boomerang to target a Bombling and then target the boulder. This will cause the bomb to blow the rock up.
Now climb the ivy and defeat the enemies nearby. Once doing so use the boomerang on a Bombling and then blow up the boulder that is nearby. When it blows up a monkey will come running out in freedom. You can now exit the room.
Back in this room you will now see the 6th monkey has joined his friends. So jump to the lower floor and use the Gale Boomerang on the platforms to work your way to and through the southern door.
Use the Gale Boomerang to spin the middle platform and walk onto it. Spin the platform again and then go through the door on the east side of the room.
In here there are 2 skulltulas hanging from the ceiling. Knock them down with the boomerang and then defeat them. Go to the northern side of the room and use your lantern on the webbing on the floor. Fall through the hole and use your sword to break a monkey out of his cage.
Climb back up to the top of the floor by using the ivy and then return to the previous room. Now just run to the other side of the room and use your small key on the locked door.
In this room are 3 Tile Worms. Use the Boomerang on them and then defeat them with your sword. Then go to the northwestern side of the room and go through the small tunnel. Defeat the Skulltula and then use the boomerang on the Walltulas and climb the ivy to see a monkey that is locked behind a gate. There will be 2 pillars, one on each side of the gate. Use the Gale Boomerang to target both spinners, on top of the pillars, to open the gate and free the final monkey.
Now leave through the tunnel on the right and then go through the eastern door. Return to the center platform and spin it to return to the northern room. All 8 monkeys should now be here. They will hang and create a gigantic monkey rope for you to swing across. Swing on them to reach the other side of the room.
Use your Big Key to unlock the room to the boss chamber.
4.8 Twilit Parasite: Diababa

Once you have defeated Diababa, you will get a heart container and the first Fused Shadow.
