Zelda Wii to be Playable this Year

In a recent interview Eiji Aonuma told Famitsu that Zelda Wii should be playable before the end of this year. However he would not give a positive statement on a 2010 release date. So what could this mean? Will its just be an E3 demo? Or will the game be playable for the rest of us with an official 2010 release date.

If we are lucky we will get both. A playable demo at E3 would bring the Zelda Wii mania to a new high and give us something to get by on until its release.

Some quotes from him from this interview are provided below.

“I’d like to show something playable.”

“We’ll work hard in order to get you playing it as soon as possible.” (in reference to a 2010 release)

“We’ve progressed in development since last year. At present, the core areas have come into clear view.”

Aonuma also spoke about how the Wii Motion Plus would be used to solve puzzles within the game. The Wii Motion Plus controls have already been confirmed as a vital part of Zelda Wii so it should be interesting to see how the Big N will enable us to take control of the puzzle solving with these new controls. Either way this is looking to be one hell of a game.
