Wii U Has Automatic Shutdown Feature

Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Wii U, features an automatic shutdown option. This feature will turn the console off automatically after a set period of inactivity. This will happen even if you have your game active, but paused for too long.

Out of box, the Wii U has this feature enabled by default, to shut down after 60 minutes of inactivity. However, this time period is not set into stone. Within the console’s system options is an option to turn the feature on or to change the time period required to trigger shutdown.

This feature is not a terribly big deal, but make sure you save your game whenever you plan on leaving it unattended. Otherwise you may find yourself playing through the same segment again.
