Calling all Zelda fans! Two more faceplates for the New Nintendo 3DS will be released in Europe next week, on the 27th. These will be the first faceplates directly themed from the Zelda franchise.

The first on the left is a stunning piece of artwork showing the skull kid from the newest released game, Majora’s Mask 3D. The second has a black Triforce theme, with a gold Hylian crest on the back. Sadly these will not be available in the US, as Nintendo of America hasn’t released the New Nintendo 3DS. But boy I would pay a lot for one of these.

One of the best features of New 3DS is its interchangeable faceplates. They look great, and they help give their users an identity. One thing Nintendo is doing right would be the New Nintendo 3DS. In every way they are a step up from their predecessors. The device is sturdy and beautiful to say the least. Both versions of the New 3DS, are beautifully designed.Technologically it’s miles ahead of the original 3DS released in 2011.

Implementing a face-tracking camera on the front of the device makes the 3D effect incredibly more accurate, and its also been updated with a newer processor making its performance much faster.

Overall this is a fantastic upgrade. What makes them even better is that on top of everything, they’ve made them personal. Faceplates have been used in the past with the Gameboy micro, and even on other consoles like the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 4. But I think Nintendo has finally perfected that formula with the New Nintendo 3DS by balancing great design, with something that gives gamers yet another way to express themselves. And really, just look at them. They are stunning. So I ask you this, would you rather walk around with the same old white 3DS as everyone else, or would you want to be seen with one of these?
