Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword HD remakes not out of the question

This information comes from an interview between Polygon and Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma.

The Wind Waker HD originally started off as a tech demo in an experiment of HD graphics for the upcoming Zelda Wii U game. Aonuma told Poygon that the team played around with 3 existing Zelda games; Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. After doing so it was decided that The Wind Waker’s art style looked so well in HD that the project should be finished.

When we were thinking about the new Zelda for Wii U, which is something we’re actually working on, we needed to experiment with a variety of graphic styles and it was part of that process we took some existing Zelda games and made them HD just to see what would happen,” he said. “In doing so we realized that the Wind Waker graphic style, the art style, really represented well on the Wii U given the graphic capabilities of the new system. It really brought that world to life.

As of now there is no confirmed art style for Zelda Wii U. However, Aonuma has stated, on multiple occasions now, that Nintendo is experimenting with this concept. This notion is what led them to test the art styles of these 3 Zelda games. While The Wind Waker HD came from this test, Aonuma did not rule out the possibility of a future HD remake.

I can’t say that the possibility is zero that those will be made into HD, but right now I need to work on the next installation in the series so I don’t have the bandwidth to do that right now, but maybe it will happen if someone else does it.
