In today’s Nintendo Direct, on March 3, 2016, Shigeru Miyamoto shared new details on Star Fox Zero.
- There are now teleporters laid out around the map, leading to alternate paths
- Fortuna returns as a location
- There are many alternate paths around the map, and they lead to new levels
- The game features amiibo functionality. For example, the Fox amiibo adds the classic Arwing from the SNES Star Fox as a vehicle
- Multiplayer co-op is included in a limited for. One player can pilot the Arwing with a Pro Controller while another aims and shoots with the GamePad.
- Project Guard, shown at E3 years ago, is bundled with Star Fox Zero as Star Fox Guard, starring Slippy.
- Launches April 22, 2016.
