G4’s Videogame Deathmatch is winding to a close. Skyward Sword was in some very close matches against games like Arkham City and Skyrim, but it has made it to the finals to face Assassin’s Creed for the title of “Best Game of 2011.” Skyward Sword is currently ahead with 72% of the votes, but its lead has diminished over the course of the day, and with 7 days left, this statistic could easily change. Be sure to vote for your choice at here.

    GO SKYWARD GO!

Show the world you don't need to be mindlessly spilling guts to be a great game!

  • This isn't for GOTY. It's just a deathmatch for fun.

@AXBHikaru You're right, this isn't the official, "Game of the Year" competition, but just like any similar poll/award in any other form of media, the "Viewers' Choice" category is the one that most accurately reflects the public opinion, aka the opinions of the people who PLAY the games, and not the ones who are paid to review them. It's been said that the opinion of the masses forms cultural realities. If we accept this as true, then no matter what game wins, "Game of the Year," the game with the most public support is clearly the true victor. And in 2011, the Year of Zelda, there can be only one.
