Skyward Sword Release Date Pushed

A bit of a setback for Zelda fans was released, or so it seems at least. Screenshots from Gamestop shows that Skyward Sword’s  release date has been pushed back to November 2nd of this year. This date is not confirmed by Nintendo but Gamestop did previously have the release date in early April so this could be a good indicator that the game has in fact been delayed.  Fortunately though the game will only cost $49.99 which rivals the prices of PS3 and XBOX360 exclusive titles. It’s nice to see that Nintendo is showing how much they care about their consumers by keeping the price of this game the max price that we all wish games still were.

Now that that we’ve got that out of the way I can introduce myself, My name is Gene, and I am the new news-updater for Legendzelda.net. I’m happy to be here and I’ll be here for a while too. While I’m here I hope to cover some of the biggest Skyward Sword news that has yet to be revealed. I too (of course) am a Zelda fan and of course will be purchasing Skyward Sword when the game is officially released. I’m pretty sure I’ve met some of the people on this website before (in the forums) a while back.

    I would have recomended introducing yourself on an article that isn't rage inducing.

    Now people will either try to prove you to be untrustworthy in attempt to disprove the delay, or associate you with the year delay of skyward sword.

D: maybe it was delayed cuz they dont know it the are going to continue in the whole you make the sword go where you want it to instead of having preset moves. and is it just me or does it seem to cartoony in the previews? i thought twilight princess had excelelnt graphics and didnt make you feel like you were playing a cartoon it felt more real. idk, maybe it was the colors? but nevertheless the Zelda games for the Wii will be awesome cuz the great producers and designers :)

    sucks that they delayed it, but i think its worthit if the game is better. if they rushed, the game would b crap.

    it was probably delayed due to the earthquake… yknow Nintendo's home base is in Kyoto, japan…..

      No it isn't because of that. Tokyo didn't budge that much and Kyoto is farther from Honshu than Tokyo. I wish they had an excuse that legitamate, unfortunately it is just business as usual at Nintendo lol…

    This was inevitable. Doesn't everyone remember how Twilight Princess was originally meant to come out in like July 2005? Zelda console games are always pushed back at least a year from the first release date given, and Nintendo seem to like pitching them as Christmas/Winter releases.

    Never fear! That is what I have learnt from anticipation and doubt etc from previous times prior to Zelda releases over the years. I have always believed that the art styles adopted have been very fitting to each story, and in this case, along with the orchestral soundtrack we are to expect in Skyward Sword, it will be very worth the price. They have obviously working very hard, and hope the terrible happenings recently haven't dampened their ability to keep the momentum up..so it can be finished exactly how was designed. Just feel a chill is in order from people; nice for discussion, not so nice to hear it is rage inducing. The changes are interesting, and obviously needing to be experienced. It will be sent straight to my house when it is released anyhow, so whenever whatever :)

    It feels more cartoonish because they're taking the Link from twilight princess but changing him and everything else to a more windwaker graphic, though it was very creative how they just keep adding items and equipment to Links new adventures. It is really strange though that link is right handed in this one, i'm not complaining but it was more comforting when we all knew nintendo could never change Link. Maybe with this pushed release date we can expect greater things from nintendo, and has anyone noticed that the zelda games are alot less about zelda than they are Links adventures. Speaking of which in Majoras mask the only time we ever see Zelda is when Links flashback leads us to learn the song of time.

    Since Nintendo has already released 3 games based off of the Tingle character, you think that they would release a game using Princess Zelda as the main character. The Legend of Link: Zelda's Ball and Chain…..

    Zelda finaly springs an uber suprise on Link by trapping him into marriage. She forces him to keep up the home while she goes out on adventures of her own by saving shopping centers and shoe stores across the land of I Rule. All money she earns she spends on herself and creates new improved clothes, etc. leaving poor Link to wear the same garments over and over until they are rags. Worse, he must use his sword and shield to to the yard work and gardening. LOLZ

    Wheres the scary darkness in this game? Twilight princess was so dark and so was majoras mask and oot… It looks so happy and easy

    Did anyone actually think a Zelda game was going to come out on the original release date?! I've stopped believing in release dates until at least 6-8 weeks out. It's just not worth the let down.

    Hey I went onto Gamestop and I couldn't find anything for skyward sword…so where did you get your info? I don't mean to sound like a skeptic and I don't mean to question your credibility HOWEVER…it is Zelda we're talking about and let's face it nothing is certain. So where did you hear this?

      In my local gamestop they have the release date in late this year as well. Also various developer chats and interviews have the game release date being pushed. And since it is not going on June and it has not been released we can assume that it was in fact pushed since an early release was originally hinted at.

    Lol as Link's sister… i can't wait to torture him iin as many ways as possible in this new game!!! i saw lava… lol jk but i fail at life… I pre ordered this game, but… i lost the reciept! i have to go back and RE preorder it now… but hey, i guess i have all summer…

    i saw the trailers for ss and omfg it was epic! I have been waiting for this game for months and then after reading all theses comments i find that the dates been changed!? WHAT THE STUFF MAN

    What is the real release date for this game. Gamestop says it 11/20/2011 and other web sites its coming out 11/14/2011.

      It is coming out on 11/20/2011 or my as my local Gamestop has told me. I already paid the $49.99 to preorder it.

    I cant actually believe it but there is a love story in between zelda ( link's childhood's friend in this game) and link(main character)
