The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks was the 15th addition to the Zelda series. It was also the second Zelda title to be released on Nintendo’s handheld DS system. The first details of the game were revealed by Satoru Iwata during the Game Developer’s Conference in 2009 and more details were released at E3 of the same year.
The Spirit Tracks is a direct sequel to its DS predecessor the Phantom Hourglass. The events of this game takes place about 100 years after the ending of Phantom Hourglass and takes place in a New Hyrule which was discovered by Link and Tetra. Further highlighting it as a sequel is the fact that Nintendo chose to go with the same graphical style and retained many gameplay elements from Phantom Hourglass. The primary difference between Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass is that the over world is now traversed via a train rather than a boat.
