Peta Goes After Mario for Tanooki Suit

Peta, the animal activist and or mentally challenged group has put its sight on Nintendo’s Mario franchise. Known for making a big deal out of nothing, Peta often gets publicity by targeting non-issues and making big deals out of them.

In a new site, launched by Peta, they have set up a page called Mario Kills Tanooki. For those of you know aware, the raccoon tail that Mario gets in Super Mario 3 and Super Mario Land 3D is based off of an animal called a Tanooki. Peta is claiming that this encourages users to wear fur and kill animals.

Therefore they have launched this site with a horrible flash game in which a skinned Tanooki chases Mario through a bloody Mushroom Kingdom. If you would like to play the game then search for the site in Google. I will not assist in Peta’s campaign by linking to their site.

    Oh PETA where to begin. The first time I heard about you it was high school and some girls presentation. The way she went about delivering and speaking about animals right sort of had me understand your views and values. I had very little, but atleast some, respect for you and decided to let sleeping dogs lay. But now your attacking my home base of harmless, fun and creative video games!?

    Well from this point forward I declare war on you and your subordinates, first I'm taking down your site and server, next I'm wearing a full blown Tanooki suit for a week just to spite you, the question will be is it real or faux!? >:)

    I'm a vegan and I believe in animal rights but this is ridiculous.
    Peta is just a bunch of crap anyway. Who in hell would take peta seriously after THAT ?
