For the second time today, we would like to mention a possible release date for an upcoming Legend of Zelda title. This time however we are talking about Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. According to Kotaku, OoT for the 3DS will be released on June 2, 2011. This puts the release a couple of months after the 3DS will launch but still within sight. Kotaku also reported that the game will retail for $39.99 putting the game at a similar price to games on the current Nintendo DS handheld. Once again this release date is not confirmed by Nintendo and is only speculation.

In other news, Link’s Awakening DX is said to be one of the launch titles that will be available on the Nintendo 3DS’ Virtual console. Link’s Awakening was the game that got me into the Zelda series and it is obviously a must buy for any Legend of Zelda fan.

I've never played Link's Awakening, should I try to get my hands on the original or should I play the rumored DX version when/if it's released?

I always liked the original the best cause it had some cool glitches

I thought this game was going to rock, untill I saw young Link's face. Why did Nintendo make him look like Justin Bieber? And they had to take the blood out of the game. I regret pre ordering this game now.

The 06/02/11 date is a filler. I confirmed this at Gamestop today. I also spoke with Nintendo. They have no clue when it will be released. They were actually curious as to where Gamestop got their information. According to the Gamestop Rep. I talked to, everything on their release list that they have not actually confirmed has an 02 date for whichever month it is on. Meaning it might come out that month. Skyward Sword was pushed all the way back to Thanksgiving this year. Total bummer, I know!
