Eiji Aonuma, a video game designer and director, is well known for his role as the producer and manager of the Legend of Zelda series since 1998, although his first projects began with design work for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991.

In a recent interview with EDGE Magazine, Aonuma describes how Nintendo insists on him creating a “new IP,” which stands for intellectual property. This means that Nintendo wants him to create a brand new franchise. This is what Aonuma had  to say on the matter:

“Actually, Nintendo has been telling me to create a new IP. But then, they’re also telling me to make more Zelda games. I can’t really share much; I’m not sure I’m allowed to say anything. But I really like the idea of a game where I can live as a thief. That’s all I’ll say.”

Demon thief and Gerudo King Ganondorf Dragmire would certainly approve of this message. What project would you like to see from Aonuma? Let us know in the comments below.
