Akira Himekawa, the two woman manga team consisting of A. Honda and S. Nagano, has adapted most of The Legend of Zelda games into manga form. Through their work, the team has demonstrated a love of the source material while contributing originality to their own retellings of the different legends. Thankfully, on their Twitter page, Akira Himekawa has teased that they will once again be creating another Zelda manga sometime this year. They have begun writing, promising more details soon.

There is no sure way of knowing what Zelda game or games this new manga will be based on, but it is safe to say that it could be any of the ones they have not yet made. The first two Zelda games, Link’s Awakening, The Wind Waker, and A Link Between Worlds are all unexplored territories at this point. It might even end up being Hyrule Warriors. Still, if the teaser image is any indication, chances are it will be Twilight Princess as the silhouette of Link’s weapon most closely resembles the Ordon Sword.

Fortunately, Akira Himekawa’s other Zelda works are available in English, and most of it is bundled together in a box set. There is even a prologue chapter of Skyward Sword located in the back of Hyrule Historia. Fans who are interested should consider checking them out. It will help pass the time until we know more about their next project. If you have already read Akira Himekawa’s past Zelda adaptations, please tell us what you think.
