New Breath of the Wild Weapons Revealed

Nintendo of America’s Twitter recently posted a video revealing four new weapons that Link will be using in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The video first features a medieval-like, two-handed sword similar to a claymore. Heavier than his normal swords, his slow swings appear to do a sizable amount of damage. The second weapon is an axe, which allows Link to flip in the air and strike his enemies. The third weapon is a Bokoblin arm, which is self explanatory and hilariously degrading. Using this as a weapon will be entertaining. The final weapon is the return of the fire rod, which can cause some serious damage to both enemies and Link’s environment. Smoky the Bear does not approve.

There are some items in the series that could have had great potential as weapons that are used infrequently in the story such as the Dominion Rod in Twilight Princess, the beetle in Skyward Sword, and the lantern in Minish Cap. (Check out Awkward Zombie’s comic referring to the frustration of the Ice Temple just to find the lantern.) It is refreshing to see a variety of weapons coming to Breath of the Wild.
