New A Link Between Worlds Details

As we reported yesterday, Nintendo’s Direct event is currently taking place. During this presentation, Iwata revealed some new details about the upcoming Legend of Zelda title, A Link Between Worlds.

As many fans have noted, the game’s logo displays 2 Triforces, one light and one dark. Iwata implied that this is because there is a second Triforce that exists in the other world of the game. If true, this news would be huge for the Zelda franchise and could open the door to a ton of possibilities throughout the series and story. How this other Triforce is involved with A Link Between Worlds has not yet been revealed.

A new trailer was also shown during this Nintendo Direct. This trailer can be seen above, and I would like to point out several things seen in the trailer and presentation.

  • During the trailer it was shown that Link can jump between the light and dark world by sliding into crevices within the environment. This act is done by using Link’s new wall-hugging ability.
  • Again it was confirmed that this game takes place many years after A Link to the Past. During the trailer a character was seen talking about the events from A Link to the Past. Iwata also confirmed that this game takes place a long time afterwards and features a new Link.

Stay tuned as we update the site with more information.
