Is Nayru a Playable Character in Hyrule Warriors?

With the recent announcement/rumor that Agitha from Twilight Princess and newcomer Lana would be playable characters in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors, fans have been speculating about Lana.
Lana is actually a cover character for the Wii U box, so one would think she is going to play an important part to the story.

However – many fans have started piecing together some possible clues that indicate Lana, might actually be a form of Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom.

If you take a closer look at Lana, you’ll see she shares a few similarities to the one-third of the Goddesses of Hyrule, Nayru.

In her hair, you’ll see a small little trinket that looks a lot like the magic ability granted to Link in Ocarina of Time. The spell, Nayru’s Love envelopes Link in a blue crystal to protect him from taking damage.

The book she’s holding (book of spells, perhaps?), the cover shares a similar resemblance to not only Nayru’s Love, but also Nayru’s Pearl from The Wind Waker.

Finally, Lana’s belt buckle shares a similar resemblance to the top centerpiece of Nayru’s Harp from Oracle of Ages.

These are just a few speculations fans have made. Could Lana be a descendent of the Goddesses of Hyrule? It would make sense to have a little more lore to the story and to include the Triforce, even the Goddesses.

What are your thoughts, fans?

The notes on her clothing and gear seemed like a stretch at first, but I mean… Nayru… Lanayru… Lana…? Perhaps there’s something to this theory. Either way, I am SO READY for this game!

Perhaps. But people said the same thing about Fi from Skyward Sword. From the start she “looked” like the master sword, but that seemed to be impossible. But she was indeed the spirit of it after all

      • Kale B

Yeah, but there’s nothing in Fi’s name that references the Master Sword. That’s what I’m getting at, here. Lana’s name COULD be significant, as it bears a similarity to other representations of Nayru that we’ve seen in the series (TP and SS specifically). I’m not saying I believe this is the case, but it does lend some validity to the theory.

Absolutely. I cannot agree with you more. It would be really cool if all 3 of the Goddesses were somehow playable.

          • Kale B

That would be excellent. Each with their own set of abilities and whatnot. I also think, as long as they’re pulling all these NPCs from TP and making them playable, that the entire Resistance crew should really be taken advantage of… so many unique personalities there.

Maybe we’ll get Lana, On, and El. Lanayru, Faron, and Eldin? On is kinda a terrible name though. I was expecting Nayru and Din (and maybe even Farore) to be represented by the Oracles from OOS and OOA. Either way would be cool though.

Another thing, Nayru is the goddess of wisdom and Lana fights with books

    I hope this is true.
