Zelda Races

Hylians

Description: The race said to blessed by Gods, they have amazing skills with magic like making some potions and such. They’ve always been thought to be the most powerful in Hyrule. They look like everyday humans but with one little difference, their ears are similar to that of an elf’s.

Notable Members: Princess Zelda and Link

Games: Every single one

Sheikah

Description: The Sheikahs are the race that have been chosen by the ancient gods to protect the Triforce and the Royal family. They look exactly like your average Hylian but they’re somewhat bigger. Impa is the only one left after the great war. This race is responsible for creating the Shadow Temple.

Notable Members: Impa

Games: Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Twilight Princess

Kokiri

Notable Members: Saria and Mido

Games: Ocarina of Time

Korok

Description: Basically they are the Kokiri. Yeah, I know, just hear me out. Around a century after Ocarina Of Time took place, Hyrule got flooded and the different races had to adjust to their new lives. In response to that, the children of the Great Deku tree took form as Koroks because it was simply easier. (They could easily fly with the Deku Leaves, plus they believed this shape was more true to who they really were as opposed to the human shape they had as Kokiri.

Notable Members: Makar

Games: Windwaker

Goron

Description: These guys really know their fighting techniques and they’re very strong, but in reality they’d rarely hurt a fly. They grow to be really huge and can withstand extreme heat conditions. Their main diet consists of rocks.

Games: Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Wind Waker, Four Sword Adventures, The Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks

Zora

Notable Members: Princess Ruto, King Zora, Mikau, Prince Ralis, Queen Rutela

Games: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Ages, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess

Rito

Description: Well, I said you can think of the Zoras as “fish people”, then you can think of the Rito as “bird people”. They live atop Death Mountain, which in their time is actually called Dragon Roost Island. They worship Valoo, whom of which is the God of the Sky. It’s a rule that every Rito that wishes for wings must encounter Valoo in order to get them.

Notable Members: Quill, Medli, Prince Komali

Games: Wind Waker

Deku

Descriptions: These guys are what you could consider two-faced. They can be seen as your friend and also your enemy. They usually only care for themselves which allows them to switch between good and evil, whichever is most convenient at the time.
Notable Members: The Deku Princess

Games: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Four Swords Adventures

Gerudo

Minish

Description: This is considered to be a legendary race which live all over the great land of Hyrule. Some are in forests, some in villages, some even live right along with other Hyrule citizens but because of their awfully small size, hardly anyone is aware they exsist. They will only let themselves be known to children, so adults have to believe they’re legends.

Notable Members: Ezlo, Vaati

Games: The Minish Cap

Twili

Description: Remember those guys that tried to take over the Sacred Realm and gain all it’s power? Well the Twili are the descendants of those guys. As a result they were sent to what is known as the Twilight Realm where they stayed.
