A brand new Mega Man adventure was just revealed, but not in the form you’d expect!
Dentsu Entertainment USA and Man of Action Entertainment have partnered up to create a 26-episode animated series based on the classic Capcom video game franchise. Dentsu, who owns worldwide broadcasting rights for the Blue Bomber, chose Man of Action – most famous for Ben 10 and Ultimate Spider-Man, among others – to create, write, and produce the brand-new Mega Man series.
Yuichi Kinoshita, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Entertainment made the announcement today, stating “We are very excited about the opportunity to introduce an all-new ‘Mega Man’ to loyal fans and kids”.
The new Mega Man animated series is currently aiming for an air date of 2017; not coincidentally, the 30-year anniversary of the Mega Man franchise. There is no word yet on how the new series will be distributed, but more details are expected to arise as the expected premiere date draws nearer.
