Etsy is a site chockfull of homemade crafts, jewelry, clothes, and more. It is one of the most popular outlets used to sell custom, one-of-a-kind video game merchandise. Happy Mask Props is an Etsy store dedicated to 3D printed masks and props such as the iconic Majora’s Mask.

Storeowner Eric Nugent had opened his shop during September of 2015 as convention goers had encouraged him to sell his work after cosplaying the Happy Mask Salesman. He has been building cosplay props and costumes at the age of ten. After discovering a passion for 3D printing, he began to blend the two hobbies into what he does today.

“Denver’s Nan Desu Kan is where I debuted my Happy Mask Salesman cosplay with a twist; I loved the character and wanted to continue his story after the end of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. The Mario mask on his bag gave me the idea to bring all the different fandom into a single character. I constantly had people coming up to me at the convention asking if I actually sold them, which is where I started to realize that I could have my art support my hobbies.”

After experimenting with 3D printing, with years of experience in prop building, Nugent had brought many of his favorite Legend of Zelda items to life. His favorite prop in particular is his Keaton Mask, like many fellow fans, his love for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time made this mask extra special. His store currently offers six different kinds of Legend of Zelda-inspired props. This includes the Majora’s mask, Keaton mask, Mask of Truth, Lens of Truth, Goron Bracelet, and hookshot. Aside from the Legend of Zelda series, Nugent features props such as Cubone’s hat from Pokémon, the Blue Spirit mask from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and many more.

“With Twilight Princess HD being released, I am excited to play that again to become inspired once more. As time allows I plan to add the remaining masks from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask as well as a few other props: Fierce Deity’s Sword, Midna’s hat and crown, Zelda’s tiara and shoulder guards, and the list is always growing.”

Aside from the items in his shop, Nugent also accepts commissions and requests for custom props. On top of that, if you write a review through Etsy including photos of your product, you’ll receive a “loyal customer discount coupon!” Happy Mask Props also has a Facebook page to post updates and progress on his work.
