Finally, the moment we’ve been waiting for! The “NX” console has been revealed to be the “Nintendo Switch.”: its latest console. In a nutshell, to summarize what has been revealed about the console so far:
- It contains a NVidia processor.
- It is Nintendo’s first portable console.
- It is region free and not region locked.
- The camera and microphone are not built into the portable device, unlike the Wii U Pad.
- It will support game cartridges, not disks.
- It has detachable controllers.
- The trailer reveals footage from Breath of the Wild, a new Super Mario game, Splatoon (either a brand new game or a port), and what looks to be like a Mario Kart 8 port.
Needless to say, the Nintendo Switch is a refreshingly new addition to Nintendo’s console line. Its base retail price will likely be $299.99, with the bundle being $399.99. You can find more details below at Nintendo of America’s Twitter page and through Nintendo’s official Nintendo Switch page.
