Majora’s Mask 3D Improvements Detailed

More details regarding The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask continues to funnel in. Yesterday was a big day of news, with a plethora of new releases, features, and elements being revealed during the Nintendo Direct event.

Today we have some more details regarding some minor but impactful changes that have been made to the gameplay of Majora’s Mask 3D.

The expected

  • Reworked environments with new props and decorations placed around
  • Improved character models with smoother animations at 60 FPS
  • 3D capabilities on 3DS, motion controls, touchscreen features

Bomber’s Notebook

  • Now given to Link by the Happy Mask Salesman
  • Will show you your current quests
  • Bomber Gang will give rumors regarding what to do next
  • Alarms can be set to keep track of events that takes place at certain hours

Saving

  • Can now have up to three save files on a single copy of the game
  • Owl statues are still used and can now save permanently; no longer need to be activated by striking them with a sword but with simply using the action button near them
  • There are now Feather Statues across Termina which save but cannot be warped to with the Song of Soaring

Sheikah Stones

  • Have returned from Ocarina of Time 3D, still provide video hints

Song of Double Time

  • Move time forward to an hour of your choice

Pictobox

  • Now has its own icon on the touchscreen for taking multiple pictures

Fishing

  • Two fishing holes have been added, one near the Shooting Gallery outside the Southern Swamp and the other in the Great Bay
  • Free fishing with a Fishing Hole Pass, redeemable for a single use
  • Choice between a standard fishing rod and a rod with a Sinking Lure
  • There are 10 kinds of fish to be caught

Clock Town Changes

  • Bomber Gang kids are no longer found at the same location
  • Clock Town bank has been moved to the main square

Masks

  • Most masks look the familiar, but the Garo’s Mask now looks like the Garo Master’s mask
  • With the Giant Mask, Link can now swing Twinmold around by its tail and smash it into the ground
  • Deku Link can now shoots fully charged bubbles in a straight path

Bosses

  • Strange eyes behind the boss’ masks, now the weak points of the bosses when they are stunned
  • Look like the eyes on Majora’s Mask

Circle Pad Pro

  • The game supports Circle Pro for playing on the standard 3DS and 3DS XL.

    This game is not in 60 FPS in any way shape or form (except for menus for some odd reason). Don’t spread false info, it’s only disappointing.

        Take a chill pill. Some of the videos released were in 60 fps, some elements of the game are in 60 fps. We are not the source. We report what the media we are provided indicates. “learn the hard way”? What does that even mean?? You are acting like there was some serious action against you because a framerate wasn’t to your liking.
