For those of you who are worried about the controls of the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, worry no more…well that is if you are like Reggie Fils-Aime. In a recent interview with the Independent Film Channel, or IFC, Reggie revealed that he has been a longtime Legend of Zelda fan ever since he played the original A Link to the Past on the Super Nintendo. Since playing aLttP, Reggie has continued to enjoy the Legend of Zelda series and now finds that the 1:1 motion controls of Zelda Skyward Sword is perfect and does not take away any of the magic of the Zelda series. In fact, his direct quote was,

“I’ll tell you: I’m a longtime ‘Zelda’ fan. I played ‘Zelda’ before I ever considered that I could be working for the company. I cut my teeth on ‘Link to the Past.’ I’ve picked up that control scheme and it feels like a great ‘Zelda’ game.”

Reggie would continue on with this point by addressing the unique attacking concept that has many fans wondering,
“I am the one deciding how to attack a particular enemy. It feels great to me. I found that it’s a fantastic new way to experience the “Zelda” franchise.”

So there we have, if it’s good enough for Reggie then it should be for you as well.

When I come to a Zelda website, I expect to read someone who knows what they are talking about. "The mechanics of the series will be the same. Adventure into the dungeons, defeat the boss, gain access to new areas and repeat." No. In fact, for months Nintendo has been saying the opposite, that the traditional overworld-dungeon-key-boss-repeat formula is getting a makeover, and they hinted directly as to what that will mean in their E3 demo of the game.

Who the heck is worried about the control scheme and why? Man, people are stupid. It is either whiny little brats who can't handle change, or fat, pathetic slobs who are too lazy to swing their wrist for fear of becoming exhausted. To the first group, I would say go buy an NES and keep playing the same old games over and over–that way you can avoid that horrible thing called progressed and innovation. To the second group, I recommend getting a bucket installed under your lazyboy so you can use the toilet without over-exerting yourself by walking to the bathroom. Just get your mom to empty it every couple of days.

When I see people say that Skyward sword will suck. I just laugh. When Twilight Princess was 6 months before it was going to be released everyone said that the game would suck and it would ruin the Zelda concept. Then 2 mouths before it was release those same people who said the games going to suck said that the game looked like the greatest thing ever. What do we learn from this. Humans are indecisive and they don't even know what they want sometimes. But I am a die hard Zelda fan and I want this game.
