We have summarized all the new information from last night’s Hyrule Warrior’s Nintendo Direct presentation. If you were already in bed, and missed the video, you can get all of the breaking news here below.

  • New Adventure Mode: In this mode, players will be a shown a grid that looks like an old school The Legend of Zelda map, filled with monster challenges. Entering a grid will bring players into a Hyrule Warrirors styled scenario. Complete the challenge to unlock more grids on the map, and to unlock new characters and weapons for the main game.
  • Costumes: If Hyrule Warriors is purchased, and registered on Club Nintendo within 4 weeks, you will be able to get a Ganondorf costume set for free. Other costumes will be available as pre-order bonuses in various retail stores.
  • Playable Villains: Play as Ghirahim, Zant, and Ganondorf on the battlefield. Each foe has a unique set of weapons and move-sets.
  • New Weapons: Two new weapons were revealed and they are a blast from the past. The Chain Chomp, from Link’s Awakening and the Mario series, is available as a terrifying weapon choice. Bombchus are also back, but are much larger and more explosive.
  • Co-Op Mode: Co-Op mode only exists with local multi-player. In Co-Op mode players will notice a slightly lower game resolution.
  • Locations: Most locations are based on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
