A lot of hobbyists have realized the power of the Raspberry Pi to create some pretty amazing things, but this one might just take the cake. User phrazelle at instructables.com created a fully-functioning Legend of Zelda-themed Arcade Cabinet, all running on a Raspberry Pi 2. Audio is routed through a USB adapter into an amp, the video is sent from the Pi to a 19″ computer monitor using an HDMI to DVI cable, and the main buttons are powered through the USB encoder board that came with the Raspberry Pi kit.
The cabinet itself can of course play Zelda, but it runs an emulator through a RetroPie Pi image using the Emulation Station frontend. In other words, it can play pretty much any game, including Ocarina of Time, Super Metroid, Super Mario 64, Tetris, and many more.
