The Game and Watch series was a popular game for the Nintendo Gameboy, which was released in 1980, has been re-released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console as of July 14, 2011, in the United States, and will be released on July 21, 2011, in Europe. For those unfamiliar with the series, it features characters from The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and the Mario gaming franchises, and was a popular series that spanned into multiple games for the various Nintendo hand-held devices, until its discontinuation date in 1991. It is now available for download on the 3DS Virtual Console for $2.99 (US).
