Aonuma Fired and the End of Zelda Wii

The Japanese newspaper, Gansaku Shimbun has reported that Aonuma, the Legend of Zelda director has recently been fired by Nintendo. Though no official reason has been given, this firing must have upset Aonuma as he quickly retaliated against Nintendo before departing.

In a brash and reckless move, Aonuma destroyed all work that had been completed on the upcoming Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo Wii. Therefore the game has been set back quite a bit as years of work is now lost.

Aonuma was able to be reached for this comment, “Now that I look back on what I did, I’m ashamed and I regret it deeply. I guess I didn’t like the thought of Nintendo firing me just before the release of the Zelda game that I have worked so hard on. I would ask for forgiveness and make peace with Nintendo, but I realize that they can not take me back.”
