If you are like me then the shock of last week’s Majora’s Mask 3D reveal is still resonating. Since then many Zelda fans have been wondering what kinds of changes Nintendo will make to the 3DS remake.

Famitsu Magazine recently got a chance to interview Zelda producer Eiji Anouma on the development process of the game. Nintendo Everything has translated this interview to reveal the following details:

  • After the release of Ocarina of Time 3D Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Anouma sat down to discuss what should be developed next
  • Miyamoto said that he felt Majora’s Mask 3D would play better on a portable console as it could be put to sleep at anytime during gameplay
  • Anouma originally declined this notion because he remembered how many problems the original game’s development went through. He then replayed the original game and concluded that there could be a lot of changes to the gameplay that would make Majora’s Mask easier to play.
  • The remake will consider both old fans of the series and first time players. The difficulty balance may be adjusted in ways to adjust this problem
  • There will be changes to Majora’s Mask 3D to help players solve problems when stumped
  • The time cycle will remain untouched
  • One boss battle is getting modified in some way. It was not made clear how this would be done
  • There will be a new fishing spot
  • Gyro controls from Ocarina of Time 3D are returning
  • Touch controls are being improved upon by using feedback from A Link Between Worlds
  • Anouma hints at new gameplay elements for the NEW 3DS

What kind of changes would you like to see in Majora’s Mask 3D? Let us know in the comments.
