Retro-Bit, a company dedicated to third-party accessories and re-manufacturing classic consoles, has recently revealed details on their previously-announced product: the Super Retro Boy.

Perfect for any Game Boy lover, this 3-in-1 handheld system plays games compatible with the Game Boy, the Game Boy Color, and the Game Boy advance. Link’s Awakening, the Oracle games, A Link to the Past/Four Swords, Minish Cap, and other nostalgic Zelda games can all be played on the same system. The Super Retro Boy’s system details consist of four action buttons (unlike the Game Boy), a TFT HD scratch and damage-resistant screen, a 2,500 mAh battery that provides players roughly ten hours of gameplay, a backlight, and textured side grips. The system will cost $79.99 and will be coming out in August. It will also be available in a “ten-in-one game cartridge” bundle.

I don’t know about you guys, but the Game Boy Advance SP is my favorite handheld system. I had the pearl blue “AGS-101” version, with the significantly brighter and less-blue screen, and I played a majority of my favorite games on it. From Oracle of Ages to Pokémon: Emerald Version, I still pick up mine to this day, though it is covered in scratches. As of recently, fans are calling out the Super Retro Boy for being a “slightly better SP” and, due to major criticism on the Retro-Bit Generations console, some fans are skeptical. However, as a huge Game Boy fan, I am personally looking forward to the Super Retro Boy.I am especially digging that sleek white version. I think it will be a neat little system that will help me bring back some of my favorite games I have been too busy to play.

Retro-Bit has recently published multiple Twitter posts regarding the Super Retro Boy, so be sure to follow them to keep up with updates. What are your thoughts on this system? Are you interested in it? Let us know in the comments below!
