When the 3DS was released we were all expecting a system update here sometime in May. This update will allow us to access the 3DS’ eShop which will have a score of classic Nintendo games to play on our 3DS. The update will also grant users the ability to access the Internet and to browse the web. A quote from Nintendo updates us on the situation…

“A new system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS system will be available in North America the evening of June 6 Pacific time. By downloading the free update via a wireless broadband Internet connection, Nintendo 3DS users can enjoy new features and enhancements, including an Internet browser and access to the Nintendo eShop, where users can browse and purchase downloadable content.”

So while the update has been delayed, it will still be released in early June which is not too far off.
